What we collect

Surfora is an AI search visibility tracker. We collect the following from your Shopify store:

• Shop domain and basic shop information (name, currency)
• Product titles, types, tags, and descriptions (used to auto-generate search queries)
• Brand names you provide (your brand and competitor brands)
• Search queries you create or that we generate from your catalog
• AI search engine responses we collect on your behalf

We do NOT collect customer personal data, orders, customer emails, or any personally identifiable information about your shoppers.

How we use your data

• To query AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini) with relevant prompts
• To detect mentions of your brand and competitors in AI responses
• To calculate visibility scores and trends
• To generate optimization recommendations

Third parties

We send queries to and store responses from:

• Google Gemini API
• OpenAI API (gpt-4o-mini)
• Perplexity API

These providers may temporarily process the queries we send. We do not send any Shopify customer data to these providers.

Data retention

Scan results are retained according to your plan's trend history limit (FREE: none, BASIC: 30 days, PRO: 90 days). Older data is automatically deleted. When you uninstall the app, all your data is deleted within 48 hours.
